Science has for many years been mistakenly seen as a pursuit for old men in lab coats with beards and bad shoes. Here at Young Women In Science say NO MORE! Science is for anyone who loves asking questions, regardless of gender, age or footwear. If you can ask those questions in a pair of Manolos, all the better, but all we hope for is more young women seeing the value of science and wanting to get involved. There are so many varied science careers, and misconceptions that all science is done in a laboratory surrounded by test tubes and bunsen burners is just that, a misconception. Young women the world over are striding into science in the jungle, hospital wards, crime scenes and any number of other strange and exciting places. Why not be one of them? Our best advice would be know what you enjoy, follow your heart, wear out your vision. You can acheive great things.
